BJP objects transfer of BDOs, seeks EC's intervention

Ranchi, Nov 3 (UNI) The Jharkhand BJP has objected the recent transfer of about 108 Block Development Officers (BDO), saying the move would adversely affect the voters' list review work in the state.

In a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner, state party president P N Singh today said the transfers were effected due to political reasons which would affect the ongoing process of reviewing the voters' list that will continue till November 15.

Mr Singh said the Election Commission should intervene into the matter and ask the UPA-backed Madhu Koda government to cancel the transfer orders.

On November 2, the state government had transfered 108 BDOs.
