Asha Hooda pays obeisance to Baba Srichand

Chandigarh, Nov 3 (UNI) The 513th Janmotsav of Baba Srichand, the elder son of Guru Nanak Dev, was celebrated today with much religious fervour at village Mandi of district Kurukshetra.

Vice-Chairperson of Haryana Child Welfare Council Asha Hooda, Agriculture Miniser H S Chatha and Member of Parliament, Naveen Jindal participated in the religious congregation organised to mark the occasion.

They paid obeisance to Baba Srichand and Guru Granth Sahib.

Addressing the religious congregation after inaugurating a blood donation camp organised there, Ms Hooda said the blood donors were doing a noble task as the blood donated by them helps in saving precious lives.

Ms Hooda said that service of blood donors to humanity was extremely valuable because they didn't even know whose life would be saved with the blood donated by them.

A mass marriage ceremony was also arranged on this occasion.

Ms Hooda conveyed her good wishes to the girls belonging to the poor families who got married in this mass marriage ceremony. She prayed for their bright future.
