17 injured in clash between two groups in Punjab

Ludhiana, Nov 3 (UNI) Seventeen people were injured when two rival groups fired at each other in Nathu Bhaini village in the district this evening, police here said.

According to reports, a group led by Kashmir Singh was fired upon when they were tilling a piece of land on the outskirts of the village. The rival group was led by Nirbhai Singh who claimed that the land in question belonged to him.

While 10 people of Kashmir Singh's group sustained injuries, the remaing five belonged to Nirbhai Singh's group. Amongst the injured was Kashmir Singh and his son Gurdip Singh.

All the injured have been admitted to the CMC hospital here. The police has registered a case at the Kum Kalan police station against members of both the groups. However, no arrests have been made so far.
