Merger of Deccan-Kingfisher on the horizon

New Delhi, Nov 02, 2007 : The United Breweries Group Chairman Vijay Mallya is considering the merger of Kingfisher Airlines with budget carrier Simplifly Deccan.

UB Group bought a 26 per cent stake in June in Deccan Avation for Rs 550 crore, valueing the company at Rs 2,200 crore. To this end, Mallya said that Kingfisher had asked consulting firm Accenture to study the integration of the two airlines, including the possibility of a merger.
