Sagar, MP, Nov 2 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Food and Civil Supplies Minister Akhand Pratap Singh Yadav today advocated creation of a Bundelkhand state to ensure the region's speedy development.

''I think several benefits accrue from such creation.

Twenty-eight districts from Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring Uttar Pradesh should be part of the new state. These districts are similar from the point of view of language and culture. No government has succeeded in developing this region,'' he told mediapersons at the divisional headquarters.

On Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati's proposal for a separate Bundelkhand, the Minister said that all parties should come together for a robust initiative in that direction.

''The Madhya Pradesh government is taking strict action against black-marketeers,'' Mr Yadav claimed.
