Kidnapped trader's son rescued, 6 held
Lucknow, Nov 2 (UNI) Police today rescued the kidnapped son of an affluent trader in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh today.
On October 28, Devi Prasad's son Bablu was abducted under Madiyaun police station area of the state capital. Later, Rs 2.7 lakh was demanded as ransom.
On being tipped-off, police arrested two persons in Kotwali area and rescued the boy from their jaws.
The other accused were nabbed after an encounter from the jungles near the Gomti bridge. The police also recovered the ransom amount from their possession.
The accused were identified as Rajjan Vishvakarma, Santosh Kumar, Avneesh Pandey, Rakesh Yadav, Bhaiyalal and Om Prakash.
Meanwhile, rewards of Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,500 were announced by the IG, DIG and SSP for the police team for accomplishing their arrest and rescuing the boy.
