BSI, CII sign MoU

Mumbai, Nov 2: The British Standards Institute (BSI) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) have signed of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for working together in the area of standards.

The MoU envisages co-operation in several areas, including food safety standardisation, sustainability and information security management.

New work areas between the two organisations will include exchange of best practice in the standards development arena to benefit the Indian businesses, a press release here today said.

The MoU was signed by BSI communications director Frank Post and CII Institute of Quality head S K Kakkar.

''This agreement is an important step for both BSI and CII.

BSI already provides support for a wide range of products including quality, environmental management and health and safety, and we look forward to using our expertise to support the membership of CII and standardization in India,'' Mr Post said in the statement.
