Trinamool bandh affects trade with Bangladesh

Bangaon, Oct 31 (UNI) International trade with Bangladesh through the Petrapol corridor near here in North 24 Parganas was affected following the 'Bengal bandh' called by the Trinamool Congress.

The bandh supporters had stalled the goods carrying trucks at Petrapole.

Customs officials here said, trucks from the either sides were not allowed to cross the border. However, a pair of Kolkata-Dhaka passenger bus entered Bangladesh after being detained by the Trinamool activists for about an hour.

Life in the border town was paralysed with all the commercial establishments remaining closed and disruption of traffic.
