Toll in explosion at fireworks unit rises to two

Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, Oct 31 (UNI) The toll in the explosion at a fireworks manufacturing unit at Suthakulam village, near here, on October 29 last, rose to two, with one more person succumbing to HIS burn injuries today.

Police sources said M Vinod Kumar (17) died at the Kilpauk Medical College (KMC) Hospital, where he was shifted from a hospital here.

The condition of two others, R Renu and Renu, who were also shifted to the KMC hospital, was stated to be serious, they added.

It may be recalled here that a person, Rayar (40) of Chellankuppam village, was killed and seven others were seriously injured in the explosion when the employees were busy manufacturing fireworks ahead of the Diwali festival season. The building was razed to the ground under the impact of the explosion.
