Prosecutors label Russia bus bomb as "terrorism"

MOSCOW, Oct 31 (Reuters) Russian prosecutors labelled as a ''terrorist'' act a bomb explosion that killed 8 and injured more than 20 passengers in the city of Togliatti today.

They opened a criminal investigation into the attack, Russian news agencies reported, three hours after the early morning explosion.

''According to the facts of the explosion in the bus in Togliatti, it is a criminal case that was initiated according to the paragraph 'Terror Act' of Russian law,'' said Vladimir Artyakov, the governor of the local Samara region, where Togliatti is situated.
