Police apprehend 12 Myanmarese intruders in Andaman
Port Blair, Oct 31 (UNI) The Andaman and Nicobar Police have apprehended 12 Myanmarese poachers from North Andaman Islands, police said today.
''We have seized one Myanmarese dinghy and fishing equipment, diving glasses, spare parts of engine, one spare engine, HSD oil, Rice bags, Torch lights, plastic rope etc,'' Ashok Chand, Superintendent of Police in Andaman, told UNI.
The operation was launched by the anti-poaching team of Andaman and Nicobar Police following a tip off of sighting of foreign poachers in and around Mutha Nallah area of North Andaman.
''All the Myanmarese poachers are being brought to Port Blair for initiating necessary legal action against them,'' Chand added.
