ONV Kurup bags 'Ezhuthachan Award'
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 31 (UNI) Poet O N V Kurup has been selected for the prestigious ''Ezhuthachan Award'' for 2007.
Instituted by the Kerala Government, the award carries a cash prize of Rs one lakh, a citation and a statuette.
State Culture Minister M A Baby announced the award at the poet's residence here.
Mr Kurup, a recipient of Padmasri, had won many accolades, including the Kendra Sahitya Academy Award (Malayalam), Kerala Sahitya Academy Award and the Vayalar Ramavarmma Award.
Ezhutachan award is the highest literary award instituted by the Kerala Government. It is named after the father of Malayalam language.
