Hyderabad, Oct 31 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao today said the government had decided not to implement the mid-day meal scheme for sixth to eighth standard students in government high schools in the State.

Addressing newspersons here, Mr Rao said the government took the decision because the scheme, sponsored by the Centre, did not include ninth and tenth standard students studying in the same school.

The new mid-day meal scheme would not render justice to all students in the government high schools, he said.

Stating that Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy would rake up the issue and urge the Centre to implement the scheme for all students, the Minister said it was very difficult to implement the scheme, excluding ninth and tenth standard students.
