NCR board discusses progress of infrastructure projects in NCR regio

New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) The NCR Planning Board today discussed progress of implementation of infrastructure development projects financed by the Board in the National Capital Region and in five counter magnet towns of Bareilly, Hissar, Patiala, Gwalior and Kota.

A meeting of the Project Sanctioning and Monitoring Group of the NCR Planning Board, which met under the Chairmanship of Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development M Ramachandran, here also discussed sanctioning of financial assistance for new infrastructure development projects in the region.

During the current financial year, the Board has, so far sanctioned loans amounting to Rs 123.90 Crore for seven new projects relating to ROBs, Road improvements and power transmission and distribution network.

The Project Sanctioning and Monitoring Group in today's meeting approved loan assistance of Rs 674 Crore for 27 infrastructure development projects involving total outlay of Rs 1597 crore in the sectors of water supply, sanitation and sewerage, roads, housing and power in the states of Haryana, UP and Rajasthan.

This includes loans amounting to Rs 93.42 crore for nine water supply projects in Rohtak, Rewari, Jajhar and Sonepat districts of Haryana, loans amounting to Rs 48.78 crore for seven sanitation and sewerage projects in Rohtak, Rewari and Jajhar districts of Haryana, loans amounting to Rs 43.26 Crore for 3 ROBs in Rohtak town of Haryana and loans amounting to Rs 194.59 crore for improvement of 6 state roads in Haryana.

It also includes loans amounting to Rs 133.80 crore for Anand Vihar Residential Housing Scheme in Hapur-Pilkhua in U.P and loans amounting to Rs 160 crore for Kota Thermal Power Station, Unit-7 of 195 MW in the counter magnet town of Kota in Rajasthan.

The financial assistance from NCRPB is in addition to grants and other funds available under various central and state schemes and private investment in the sector. Towards this objective, the Board has prepared Regional Plan 2021 and has financed 178 urban infrastructure development projects involving an outlay of over Rs.

11534 crore in the area of water supply, sanitation, sewerage, transport and power etc.

The Board has disbursed loans amounting to Rs 2675 crore for these projects on October 31. Out of the 178 projects, 109 projects have already been completed and 69 are at various stages of implementation by the concerned state governments and their implementing agencies.
