MPA celebrates its centenary on Nov 3

Nashik, Oct 31 (UNI) The Maharashtra Police Academy (MPA) will celebrate its centenary on November 3.

A special commemorative stamp and a book on MPA will be released on the occasion.

Speaking to reporters here yesterday, MPA Director Sridevi Goyal informed that Union Home Minster Shivraj Patil will be the chief guest at the function. Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, Union Minister of state for Home Manikrao Gavit have also been invited for the centenary celebrations, she added.

A ceremonial parade will also held on the occasion.

The new centenary building will have a crime scene laboratory informing about various crime scenes, forensic awareness centre and fire arm training simulators (FATS).

Founded in 1906, the MPA, besides a central building, has constructed a hostel for 40 probationary Dy Sps and additional three class rooms and hostel for 250 cadets. With the changing times we have modernised our curriculum, Ms Goyal added.
