MHADA clerk acquitted in bribery case
Mumbai, Oct 31 (UNI) A local court today acquitted a MHADA clerk in a 1999 bribery case due to lack of evidence.
Additional sessions judge R R Gandhi acquitted Chandrakant Sawani as the prosecution had failed to submit substantial evidence against him.
Sawani, a clerk with the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), had been arrested by anti corruption bureau sleuths on June 16, 1999, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000 from a person for giving possession letter for a flat.
