Lioness dies of snake bite in Gir forest

Junagadh, Gujarat, Oct 31 (UNI) The carcass of a lioness was found near a farm at Jalantar village in Maliya-Hatina tehsil of the district last evening.

The forest department officials removed the carcass and sent it today to Junagadh's Sakarbaug zoo for a postmortem.

It was found that the lioness had died due to snake bite.

Further tests are on to find out which type of snake had bitten the lioness.
