Last date of filing of IT/FBT returns extended

New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the last date of filing of income tax and fringe benefit tax returns upto November 15.

Today was the last date for filing the returns.

Companies and firms requiring tax audit under section 44AB of the Income Tax Act can file electronic returns by November 15 but those filing paper returns have to do it by November 2, a Finance Ministry release said this evening.

The Ministry clarified that the dates for obtaining tax audit report under section 44AB have also been extended accordingly.
