Governor sends report to President on prevailing political situation

Bangalore, Oct 31 (UNI) Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur tonight sent a report to the President Prathiba Patil on the political situation prevailing following Bharatiya Janata Party, supported by Janata Dal (Secular) staking claim to form the new government in the State.

The Governor sent the report, which included entire chronology of events that took place after collapse of JD(S)-BJP coalition government following withdrawal of support by BJP for not transferring of power on October 3 by JD(S) as agreed.

Mr Thakur also reportedly mentioned about individual affidavit filed by 129 Legislators supporting Mr B S Yeddyurappa as their leader.

The Governor, understandingly, mentioned about allegations and counter allegations hurled by both the parties since October three.

The Union Cabinet, which is likely to meet on November Two was likely to discuss the issue.
