Cops claim to have solved multiple murder case

Nashik, Oct 31 (UNI) Nashik rural police have concluded that it was Balu Shivaji Ahire (27) who had killed five members of his brother's family and had later committed suicide.

The murders had rocked Rameshwar town in Deola taluka of this district yesterday.

According to police, Balu was suffering from some sexual deficiency. Despite this, his wife Usha had given birth to a girl one-and-half months ago. Balu doubted the legitimacy of the child and suspected his brother Vilas.

Yesterday, Balu not only killed his brother to take revenge but also killed the latter's wife Anita and their three children -- Sonali, Ajay and Sunil.

After committing the murders, Balu ended his own life by consuming a pesticide and jumping into a well, police said.

The post-mortem report had revealed that he had committed suicide. The police have also recovered the axe, which was used to commit the murders, from the well.

Police had earlier said the murders were a fallout of a land dispute.
