BSI introduces 'BS 25999' for Business Continuity Management

Hyderabad, Oct 31 (UNI) BSI Management Systems, one of the world's largest certification bodies, today introduced 'BS 25999', the world's first British Standard for Business Continuity Management (BCM), simultaneously in India, the UK, Japan and the US.

According to a release here, the new BS 25999 Code of Practice would help organisations to minimise disruptions and demonstrate their ability. The standard when coupled with independent assessment and certification, could contribute to the success and survival of the organisations.

BS 25999 provides a framework for implementing, managing and maintaining effective Business Continuity. It had been developed by a broad-based group of world class experts, representing a cross-section of the industrial sector and the government, to establish the process, principles and terminology of the BCM, the release added.
