Noon meal poisoned: 184 students swoon

Tiruchirapalli, Oct 30: As many as 184 students of a government middle school swooned after consuming the meal provided under noon-meal scheme at Perungkondai here today.

Police said of the 184 students brought to Government Hospital here, 23 were admitted and the remaining were treated as out patients.

The condition of the students was said to be stable. Tamil Nadu Social Welfare Minister Poongothai visited the hospital and school.

He ordered the suspension of three staff members of noon-meal scheme.
