Sugar prices crash on thin bulk consumers demand
Navi Mumbai, Oct 30 (UNI) Wholesale sugar prices today declined by Rs 25 per quintal on poor bulk consumers demand in the face of increased arrival of stocks from co-operative mills, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants Association said.
Prices of small grade and medium grades (per quintal) declined by Rs 25 and Rs ten respectively on lack of fresh bulk consumers demand.
Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades (per quintal) also eased by Rs 15 each owing to sluggish demand, traders said.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,331/1,391, Medium grade: Rs 1,394/1,486.
Ex-mill mall grade: Rs 1,320/1,360, Medium grade: Rs 1,370/1405.
