Pratibha Patil to visit Chennai

Chennai, Oct 30 (UNI) President Pratibha Patil will pay a day's visit to the city on November 2.

According to a tentative programme, Ms Patil would arrive here from Thiruvananthapuram by a special IAF aircraft at 1130 hrs and leave for Delhi on the same day.

After a brief reception at the old Airport, Ms Patil would drive down to Kalaivanar Arangam, where she would take part in the convocation function of Mother Teresa University.

After the function, she would leave for Delhi at 1530 hrs on the same day.

A high-level meeting, involving the city police, Central Industrial Security Force and Airport Security was held at the Airport this evening to provide security in view of President's visit.

The meeting also decided to tighten the security on the day.
