Digvijay stuns 2nd seed Ronit Bisht

Chandigarh, Oct 30 (UNI) Playing a percentage tennis, Digvijay Singh Mehta of Himachal Pradesh pulled off a big surprise by shocking second seed Ronit Bist in stragiht sets 6-1, 6-4 in boys under-14 second round match in the Asian Ranking Tennis Tournament at the CLTA Stadium here today.

Hitting with power on both sides, qualifier Suraj Beniwal of Yamunanagar (Haryana) defeated Anupam Chhetri (Ind) in straight sets 6-0, 6-3 to move into quarter-final round.

Ajay Yadav gave a tough fight before going down to third seed Aashman Goghari.

In a tough second round encounter, Goghari just managed to win the first set in tie-breaker 7-6 (5) and the second set at 7-5.

Fifth seed Tushal Thawani was extended to three sets by Vishal Passi before winning at 6-4, 5-7, 6-2.

In contrast, top seed Saiteja Paladugu maintained his winning spree as he downed Davinder Singh without dropping a single game at 6-0, 6-0.
