Criminal complaint filed against Daler Mahendi

Ludhiana, Oct 30 (UNI) A criminal complaint was filed in the local court here today against famous Punjabi singer Daler Mahendi for allegedly using defamatory and derogatory language against Punjab Congress leaders during his performance here on October 27.

The complaint was filed under sections 499 and 500 of the IPC by District Youth Congress (Urban) Legal Cell President Rana Harjasdip Singh in the court of Mr Tarsem Mangla, demanding action against the singer.

The court admitted the complaint and fixed the date of hearing on November 23 next.

The complainant alleged that the singer had cast aspersions on the previous Congress government in Punjab during his performance.
