Saharsa, Oct 30 (UNI) Railways today ordered a high level inquiry into the bomb explosion on railway tracks between Barauni and Tilrath stations under Sonepur division of East Central Railway (ECR).
Safety Commissioner of ECR Jagat Pal said a three-member committee comprising experts of Sonepur division had been constituted to inquire into the bomb explosion that triggered last night when Delhi-Guwahati Rajdhani express was about to cross on the route.The committee would submit the report within a week, he added.
He said the movement of trains was suspended for three hours to inspect any possible damage of tracks and train services were restored after technical personnel declared it fit. No damage was detected during the checking of tracks, he added.
Meanwhile, two live bombs were recovered from tracks between Barauni and Bachhwara stations under Sonepur division of ECR during the day .The bombs were later diffused by explosive experts.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) suspected the hand of Maoists behind both the incidents.Surveillance of tracks under Sonepur division of the ECR had been stepped up after the incidents, the police added.
