Vice-President voices concern for terrorism

New Delhi, Oct 29 (UNI) Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari today expressed concern over the growing incidents of terrorism and Naxalite acts in the country.

''The Centre, at the time of any political violence in the state, takes action only when the state government asks it to intervene.

This factor has to be looked upon,'' the Vice-President said at a book release function here.

Mr Ansari said the book, 'Political Violence and the Police in India', gives an overview of the role of various police organisations in tackling the terrorist activities and political violence.

He congratulated the author, K S Subramanian, (Retd IPS) for bringing out an informative book. A number of dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
