Physiotherapy hall added to PRC Mohali

Chandigarh, Oct 29 (UNI) Lt Gen Daljeet Singh, GOC-in-C, Western Command inaugurated the centrally air conditioned physiotherapy hall equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment at Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre (PRC) Mohali today.

Named as 'Express Block,' it has come up as a result of a joint venture of the Army and the Indian Express, a defence spokesman said.

The Army Commander described it as "a great milestone in our pursuit of excellence." The physiotherapy equipment was earlier housed in four small rooms at the PRC due to paucity of accommodation. It would now facilitate the Physiotherapist to administer treatment more closely and effectively under one roof, he said.

The concept of Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre (PRC) was evolved in early seventies with a view to rehabilitating those armed forces personnel, who suffered spinal cord or other injuries resulting into a state of paraplegia/tetraplegia.
