Man held for selling illegal arms

Vadodara, Oct 29 (UNI) One person was arrested today for illegally possessing and selling arms at Ankleshwar.

The accused, Vijaysinh Arvindsinh Gohil, was held by the special operations group of Vadodara Police and was brought here from Ankleshwar. Police has also seized two revolvers and eight cartridges from his residence.

According to police, Vijaysinh used to sell 'Attar' when he was a resident of Sadar Bazar area of Fatehgunj in the city six months ago. He then changed his name to Dinesh Bhagwandas Patel and got a job at Cadilla in Ankleshwar. Vijaysinh already has a police record.

Acting on a tip off that Vijaysinh was dealing in arms, police arrested him. He is said to be getting small arms from Guddu Mehraj Khan Pathan of Uttar Pradesh and then selling it in the state.

He will be produced before a magistrate later in the evening today.
