Congress sweeps KZSDUS elections
Kolhapur, Oct 29 (UNI) The Congress-led panel emerged victorious in the Kolhapur Zilla Sahakari Dudh Utpadak Sangh (KZSDUS) defeating the alliance of Nationalist Congress Party and Jansurajya Party which was supported by the Peasants and Workers Party (PWP).
The Congress-led panel won all the 18 seats and the NCP-Jansurajya Party alliance could not manage to win even a single seat.
The KZSDUS, known for its popular ''Gokul'' brand of milk, has an annual turnover of about Rs 550 crore. It is one of the leading milk collecting units in Maharashtra which has been governed by the Congress for the last several years.
There were 58 candidates in the fray for the 18-member Board of Directors. The polling was held yesterday.
