Auto drivers to go on indefinite strike from midnight
Hyderabad, Oct 29 (UNI) The Anti Auto Digital Meters Struggle Committee today called an indefinite "auto bandh" from midnight in protest against the government's move to replace the existing mechanical auto meters with digital meters.
According to a press release here, the Committee leader Amanullah Khan said the government should also stop the special drive launched by the Road Transport Authority and seizing the autos which have tampered meters. More than 1000 autos were seized in the drive.
Demanding that the government also take stern action against private auto financiers and banks for harassing the automen, he said the auto drivers would continue the strike until their demands were conceded.
