3 Naxalite sympathisers held

Sidhi(MP), Oct 29 (UNI) Three Naxalite sympathisers, locally called as 'Sangham' members, had been detained in Sidhi district and fire arms recovered from their possession, police said today.

Krishna Giri and Ramcharan Khairwar, both residents of Sarguja district in Chhattisgarh, and Kesri Giri, a resident of Baithan in Sidhi district, were detained following an encounter with police at Jeerkanhaiya village near Madha on Saturday night, Superintendent of Police R S Uike said.

Though Balaghat, Mandla and Dindori districts were officially declared Naxalite-affected, naxal activities were on the rise in Sidhi district, bordering Chhattisgarh.
