2 farmers commit suicide in Nashik
Nashik, Oct 29 (UNI) Two indebted farmers have allegedly committed suicide in this district since yesterday.
Govind Shirsath (40), a resident of Bahaduri village in Chandwad Taluka of the district, committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance at his residence today, according to sources.
Govind had taken loan from a bank in the district. He had even sold some of his land to repay the loan but had been unable to repay it fully.
Madhukar Patil (30), a farmer from Saytarpada village in Malegaon taluka of the district, had committed suicide yesterday by consuming some poisonous substance.
He had left a suicide note stating that he was ending his life due to indebtedness. Police, however, had doubts as to whether the note was actually written by Madhukar himself.
Madhukar had also taken loans from some banks and even private money lenders.
