Wildlife smuggling racket busted, 3 held
Lakhimpur Kheri, Oct 28 (UNI) Police today claimed to have busted a wildlife smuggling syndicate and arrested three of its members with tiger skins and bones in Melani area of this district.
On the basis of a secret information, a forest department team in a joint operation with the local police raided a house in Sansarpur village and made the seizure.
The smugglers, identified as Ram Deen, Ram Sagar and Ashok Kumar were nabbed from the spot.
On being interrogated, the arrested confessed to have hunted the animal in Melani area.
Investigations were underway.
