Two children die after slipping into an open well

Sambalpur, Oct 28 (UNI) In a tragic incident, two children today slipped into an open well while playing and later succumbed to their injuries at a local hospital.

Police said the incident took place at Kundapitha village in Deogarh district, 110 km from here.

The deceased, identified as Pulin Patra (4) and Mihir Patra (5), fell into an open well while playing on the outskirts of the village. As the children screamed for help, the villagers rushed to the well and managed to rescue them.

The two children were taken to a nearby hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

Both of them were the children of daily labourers, police added.
