Singapore's first PM scheduled to visit India

Singapore, Oct 28 (UNI) Singapore's first Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew will be visiting India from October 28 to November 3.

In New Delhi, Mr Lee would meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Indian National Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Minister of External Affairs Pranab Mukherjee.

The founding father of modern Singapore would visit Mumbai to meet Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Y V Reddy and Maharashtra chief miniter Vilasrao Deshmukh, the Prime Minister's Office announced here today.

Mr Lee would also meet leading captains of industry and business leaders.

He would also attend the JP Morgan Chase International Council Meeting and be hosted to a lunch by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The minister would be accompanied on his trip by Minister of State for Education and Manpower Gan Kim Yong, Minister of State for National Development Ms Grace Fu, Senior Parliament Secretary for Education Masagos Zulkifli bin Masagos Mohamed, Member of Parliament Mr Christopher de Souza, and other senior officials.
