Man hangs self after strangulating two children

Mumbai, Oct 28 (UNI) A person committed suicide after strangulating his two children, including a girl at Damu Nagar, Kandivali in western suburbs here today.

Uttam Patel, who was working as a peon in a private firm at Thakur Complex, was staying at Damu Nagar area since October 14, along with his wife and four children on leave and licence.

On October 20, couple quarrelled over the petty issue, in which Patel's wife left home with her two children. Since then Patel was in tension. On Friday last night he bolted the door from inside and did not come out.

This morning, when the owner of the room saw that the door of Patel's room was closed since yesterday, he opened the window and saw that Patel was hanging from the roof and children were lying on the floor.

Meanwhile, police opened the door and took possession of the bodies and sent to Bhagawati Hospital, Borivali.

A case of suicide has been registered and further investigation is in progress, police added.
