Call for more focussed co-operative movement
Kochi, Oct 28 (UNI) Kerala Planning Board Vice-Chairman Prabath Patnaik today called for a more committed and focussed co-operative movement to face the challenges of globalisation.
Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the 'International Seminar' at the sixth Co-operative Congress here, Mr Patnaik said ''the Five-Year plans were giving more importance to the co-operative sector to ensure that the benefits reached the needy.'' He said the farmers' and small-scale producers' co-operative societies should be rejuvenated to avail of the fruits of globalisation.
''The co-operative societies should try to expand its activities to reach out to more people across the country,'' he added.
