662 new PHCs to be opened in Bihar

In
order
to
ensure
better
health
services
for
the
people
of
Bihar,
the
state
government
has
decided
to
start
662
new
Primary
Health
Centres
(PHCs)
in
various
districts.
Inaugurating a PHC here yesterday at Parsauni Bazar under Bagha-1 block in West Champaran district, state Health Minister Chandramohan Rai announced that the state government would start 662 new PHCs, including 30 PHCs in West Champaran district.
''Betiah Medical College would be inaugurated next month while one paramedical institute would be opened in Nalanda and another either in Betiah or at Bagha,'' he informed.
''The state government is committed to improve medical facilities in Bihar and has chalked out a detailed plan to upgrade the infrastructures at referral hospitals and PHCs in several districts,'' Mr Rai added.
