Nandigram: 4 CPM members killed in bomb blast

Nandigram, Oct 28: At least four CPI(M) members were killed and four seriously injured in a bomb explosion at Sherkhanchak under Khejuri police station today.

East Midnapore Police Superintendent G A Srinivas said no arrests has been made so far and investigation was on.

The entire area has been condorned off, he added.

The CPI(M) supporters have alleged that the attack was made by the Bhumi Ucched Pratirodh Committee (BUPC) members.

They further alleged that the BUPC activists have set the party's zonal office on fire soon after the explosion.

Meanwhile, the 12-hour bandh, called by the Trinamool Congress today, continued to be total and peaceful in the entire East Midnapur district.

Sources said Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamata Banerjee would soon reach here.

The bandh supporters have stopped the Salimar-Digha Express at Nandakumar station near here this morning thereby disrupting train movement.
