ZP officer caught while accepting bribe

Bangalore, Oct 27 (UNI) Khaja Sadruddin, a Zilla Panchayat officer of Sub division of Gulbarga was caught red hand yesterday by Karnataka Lokayukta police while accepting Rs 10,000 as bribe for showing an official favour.

According to a release here today, trap was laid after receiving complaint from Mr Tukaram Mareppa Bhavidoddi of Gulbarga, the official was caught red handed while accepting a bribe for giving a favourable inspection report for the release of grant from the government towards the construction of a hostel building.

Earlier, the officer had demanded Rs 20,000 for the purpose.
