TN CM asks Ministers to visit rain-hit districts

Chennai, Oct 27 (UNI) With the Northeast Monsoon becoming active in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today deputed his ministerial colleagues to visit the rain-hit districts and submit a report to the government on the extent of damages.

Following information on damages in coastal districts, Mr Karunanidhi deputed his colleagues to visit 13 districts, assess the damages and submit a report to the government.

Besides stepping up relief operations, the Ministers would meet the affected people and get first hand information about rain-related deaths, damage to crops and cattle, an official release here said, Following are the details of ministers and the districts to be visited by them.

Mr Ko Si Mani and Mr S N M Upayathullah (Thanjavur), Mr K Ponmudi (Villupuram), Mr M R K Panneerselvam (Cuddalore), Mr Pongalur N Palanisamy (Coimbatore), Mr D M Anbarasan (Kancheepuram), Mr N Suresh Rajan (Kanniyakumari), Mr Suba Thangavelan (Ramanathapuram), Mr N K K P Raja (Erode), Mr Poongothai (Tirunelveli), Mr Geetha Jeevan (Tuticorin), Mr K P P Samy (Tiruvallur) and Mr U Mathivanan (Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam).
