Sudan govt announces unilateral Darfur ceasefire

SIRTE, Libya, Oct 27 (Reuters) The Sudanese government declared today a unilateral ceasefire in Darfur with immediate effect, Khartoum's top negotiator at peace talks in Libya said.

''We announce a ceasefire from this moment, and we will respect it unilaterally,'' presidential advisor Nafie Ali Nafie told the gathering.
