UP: Stone pelting between two communities

Lucknow, Oct 27: Several people were critically wounded after members of two communities resorted to stone pelting in a procession being taken out on the occasion of 'Bharat Milap' in Bazaar Khala area here late yesterday, police said today.

Police added the incident occurred when some youths in an inebriated condition started chanting slogans during the procession.

Wherein, the youths of other community resorted to stone pelting.

Several people sustained severe injuries in the clash and had been admitted to hospital.

The enraged groups were, however, convinced after senior police officials reached the spot.

Meanwhile, 10 people have been arrested in connection with the incident and police and PAC deployed in strength to maintain peace in the area.
