Bomb hoax at railway station

Chennai, Oct 27 (UNI) An anonymous call saying that a bomb planted at the Mambalam Railway Station here would explode turned out a hoax.

Railway Police sources said here today the call was received by the Chennai City Police Control Room at around 2100 hrs last night.

Not taking any chances, sniffer dogs and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad made a thorough search of the station premises.

However, no explosives were found.

EMU train services on the Chennai Beach-Tambaram Section via Mambalam remained unaffected.
