BJP slams CPI(M) govt for arresting innocent persons

Kottayam, Oct 27 (UNI) BJP Kerala President P K Krishnadas today came down heavily on the CPI(M) government and police for arresting innocent people in connection with the murder of a police officer at NSS college in Changanacherry.

Addressing a press conference here, he alleged that there were concerted efforts on the part of the CPI(M) and police to implicate the RSS and ABVP activists in the murder.

He alleged that the Home Minister was trying to save the real SFI culprits.

Demanding the resignation of Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and removal of DGP for their biased attitude, he said the arrest of innocent persons in connection with the incident was clear violation of human rights.

He demanded an independent inquiry by a central agency in order to book the real culprits.

The BJP would observe Sunday as a protest day throughout the state and stage a march to Raj Bhavan on November eight to press their demand, he said.

Meanwhile, Kerala Youth Front (M) state President Job Michael alleged that both the SFI and ABVP were instigating violence in the campus.

He also demanded a central agency probe into the incident.
