Militancy film goes international

Guwahati, Oct 26, 2007 : "Jatinga", a film on militancy in Assam, has been selected to be shown at an International Film Festival in Goa. The film has been selected for its intense portrayal of youth who are trapped in the web of terror.

The director of the Sanjib Sabhapandit has carved a niche for himself by making films that revolve around social issues. The name of the film is a metaphor, which Sanjib explains was crucial to his film. Jatinga is a small place in Assam where birds are said to commit suicide.
