School student dies after being beaten by teacher

Kahalgaon, Oct 26 (UNI) Ashish Anand, a student of St Joseph School, died today after being allegedly beaten up by a teacher in Bhagalpur district.

Official sources said here that Ashish, a student of standard XII, was allegedly beaten up by a teacher in the school located under Nathnagar police station. Ashish was later rushed to a private doctor by the school administration where he was pronounced dead.

Ashish was the only child of Ashwani Jha--an advocate. He alleged that his son died as he was beaten up by a teacher in the school.

Meanwhile, the school administration ruled out any such incident and stated that Ashish died due to brain haemorrhage.

No case had so far been lodged in this connection and no postmortem was reportedly conducted.
