Rupee opens low at 39.60/61 per USD

Mumbai, Oct 26: The spot rupee today opened weaker by about five paise against the US currency at 39.60/61 per dollar as compared to its previous close of 39.55/56 per dollar on increased dollar selling pressure by local dealers.

Later, the Indian unit fluctuated widely between 39.50 and 39.60 in intra day trade. Traders are awaiting the RBI quarter credit policy announcement on October 30, dealers added.
